Announcement regarding the increase prices for our hosting accounts.

Today we are announcing a price adjustment for our web hosting. This is effective immediately, and will take effect on January 1, 2020.

When we defined our pricing structure some twenty years ago, the requirements on the servers and the tools necessary to deliver the web were less impressive.

Today speed is a necessity, that goes without saying. Security must be ready for all attacks of all kinds, that's the minimum. Redundancy and stability must be in place. Tools to aid recovery from an event must be carried out. Scripts for help with website creation are also available.

Everything can not be done without a fair balance of profitability. In addition, the majority of our services are purchased in US dollars and resold in Canadian dollars. The Canadian currency is quite volatile, does not help to achieve a stable margin either.

Our goal is to be as transparent as possible with our adjustments. It is important for us to provide high-performance servers, with the latest technologies and better protections to customers.

In the past year, here are the changes that we have spread:

Servers in VMware = For virtualization of architectures.

Thanks to constant innovation in the hardware sector and software optimization, we can now align ourselves with the technologies for our growth.

Here are the changes we are distributing to our honor packages:

The minimum duration of a package will now be 3 months instead of one month. Our billing cycles will therefore be 3, 6, 12, 24 and 36 months.

The price of the annual honorary packages will now be

To customers who currently have monthly billing, when they expire your plan will be automatically converted to a billing cycle of at least 3 months, unless you tell us otherwise.

In addition, as of January 1, 2020, we will end our offer of the DirectAdmin product as an alternative to cPanel. We exclusively offer the cPanel control panel.

What are the impacts for clients?

For VPS, dedicated and cloud customers, you can buy a license directly from DirectAdmin and manage it yourself. You will no longer be billed for this license service by CitéGlobe as of January 1, 2020. You must therefore take the necessary measures to continue using DirectAdmin as a control panel for your services.

For our customers in DirectAdmin shared hosting, as of January 1, 2020, there will be more possibilities to renew your current accommodation with DirectAdmin when it expires.

Our technical support can help you migrate your services to our cPanel servers if you wish. However, you should be aware that certain elements may not be used, and / or are not offered with the cPanel control panel. SquirrelMail is no longer offered under cPanel. Majordomo is not used in cPanel. They use Mailman.

By adjusting our prices, we will be able to continue to invest in server and product development, thrive in an increasingly hostile security environment, grow our customer base, and remain an important player in web hosting.
